2nd Anniversary Program in Faridpur

This past August 13th, In commemoration of the 2nd Death Anniversary of renowned filmmaker Tareque Masud, a special memorial program was held at the late filmmakers village home near Bhanga town in Faripdur District. To mark the solemn occasion, the Tareque Masud Memorial Trust organized a flower laying ceremony and discussion program in front of the house were Masud was born, and where he now lies in eternal rest. Speakers at the program included members of the local government administration, local cultural personalities and senior educationists, including A.F. Md. Reza, Mayor of the locality, Sundhin Sarkar, Upazilla Chairman, Bhanga, Kamal Ataur Rahman, Former Principal Ranjendra Bishyabidhalay, Faridpur, Gazi Asadul Kabir, UNO Bhanga, and many others. The discussion was chaired by Catherine Masud, widow of the late filmmaker and chairperson of the Tareque Masud Memorial Trust. Also present to speak on the occasion were several friends and colleagues of Masud’s from Dhaka, including artist Dilara Begum Jolly, filmmaker Kamar Ahmad Simon, and Gaziul Haque Manik. The program, which was conducted by Advocate Shipra Goswami, ended with a doha mafil prayer from the Koran.
